The OWNER: Cathy Jackson, in her own words...
I grew up in Calgary, Alberta Canada. I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree specialization in Pyschology in 1987, and went on to complete a Bachelors of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1989.
I worked for a couple of years as an Occupational therapist in Edmonton, Alberta before commencing my lifelong dream to travel the world. I left with a girlfriend and traveled Europe and Africa while working stints as an Occupational Therapist in Great Britain. After 2 years of that I travelled alone through South East Asia and Australia, and landed in New Zealand to complete my final work stint as an O.T. in order to make enough money to go home.
There I met my husband to be. We were married within the year and I then spent the next 61/2 years living, working and travelling around New Zealand. With the birth of our first child we decided to return to Canada and arrived here in Southern Alberta in 1999. We now have 3 children and as a stay at home Mom, I decided to pursue another interest and that was real estate.
I joined the Robert Allen Protege program in Sept 2003 and began taking real estate investment training courses around the U.S.A. and Canada. My husband and I have now puchased several rental properties in the U.S and Canada (multi-family, single family home, and condo) which I am currently managing. I became interested in combining my interest in real estate and the internet in the summer of 2004 and then purchased the buymymobilehome.org site from the site's developer, Andrea Reynolds, in the fall of 2004.
I am interested in helping others buy and sell their homes through this site as well as provide information on all facets of this process including how to rent your home and manage tenants. I plan to add reports and articles to the site as it developes. She no longer owns BuyMyMobileHome.org but did create the business and the original web site. She was never a real estate agent, but she...
• Studied prefabricated and unique forms of housing as part of her home economics/family studies degree at Kent State University.
• Completed all the courses for a marketing degree (and graduated) and spent 30 years as owner of a promotion and marketing firm.
• Took a 20 week home construction course.
• Hosted a Sunday morning Real Estate program on talk radio in Pennsylvania on which she interviewed experts on real estate sales and real estate law.
• Has owned two mobile homes...so far.
• Owns three other businesses: AndreaReynolds.com, an international, marketing consulting practice specializing in building one-person
niche empires for doctors, lawyers, columnists, and other experts; CommissionFreeSpeakers.com, an online directory of speakers and experts; CrisisBrainstorm.com, a solution generating, for-profit, consulting, brainstorming, and publishing firm which attempts to do three things:
a) teach people how to find their own multiple solutions to serious problems,
b) replace hostility and aggression with kind behavior,
c) reduce homelessness, school shootings, murders of pregnant women, abduction of children, suicides from bullying, hate, bullying, domestic violence, etc.
HISTORY
• She planned to make BuyMyMobileHome.org successful enough to pay tuition for seven years of graduate school (part-time) to earn a doctorate in Applied Psychology, but found herself too busy with 3 other businesses (a third was a speaker agency) to do as much as she hoped.
• She sold the business and site to Cathy Jackson on November 1, 2004 when she decided to tour the country crusading against violence, bullying, hostility with her message of empathy and kindness.
• She created a home giveaway contest so she could finance her Kindness Tour.
• She wrote and published the Sell Your Mobile Home in 60 Days booklet sold on this site. Cathy Jackson now has the right to sell it.
• She created the Purchase Agreement templates which she has used for the purchase and sale of her own homes.... and you can too.
