Tips for Choosing a Mobile/Manufactured Home Community or
Park
1. Talk to the neighbors.
Ask them what problems they or other neighbors have had in
the past. Ask how responsive management is.
2. Go to the Management Office at a busy time. Observe how
the manager treats other residents.
3. Ask to see a copy of the Park Rules. (They should be
posted.) If the rules seem too stringent, see what you can
live with. For example, one park said residents were not
permitted to have any pets at all, even a bird that didn't
go outside.
4. Notice how well the park is maintained. Are the roads
paved and in good repair? Are trees and shrubs healthy? Is
the lighting good at night?
